Ipswich Residents Against Toxic Environments
MASSIVE TOXIC FIRE AT CLEANAWAY IPSWICH DUMP
Updated: Jul 22, 2020
Some time before 4pm on Sunday July 19, a huge fire broke out at Cleanaway's Ipswich dump.
Clearly, this company are incapable of managing a dump. Also DES have failed in their duty of care to local residents. We are sick and tired of the constant non-compliance, pollution, PFAS contamination and fires from this dump. We predicted that these huge piles of plastic rubbish would catch fire. We told DES, we told ICC and nobody listened. Instead they played along with the lie that this was an RRA.
Toxic smoke from the fire will be impacting suburbs such as
Redbank Plains
Collingwood Park
Greenwood Village
Fernbrook
Six Mile Estate
Ripley
Ecco Ripley
Providence
Raceview
Flinders View
Deebing heights
The risk of this fire has been reported to DES, Odour Abatement Task Force, The Minister of Environment, Senior Cleanaway Management Lance McCallum, Charis Mullen, Jennifer Howard and Jim Mullen but to date NO ACTION.
That is why you will be suffering this afternoon and tonight and possibly tomorrow.
This same Labor government that cannot control the operation of simple dumps now wants to bring a waste incinerator to your local area.
